It wasn't a path I was just considering because I thought it wasn't possible to be a freelance 3D animator. But I did it anyway!
Why this psychological barrier
Security
It is surely the fact that in the clubs where I have been, pipelines and safety issues led to a 100% presence in the premises. And there have been so many leaks lately with the madness of journalists or others to resell information at high prices, that studios no longer want to bring in outsiders. Which I understand.
During school
During my studies, we were never told about entrepreneurship in the end. We have always been trained to be good technicians, responding to company demands and constraints.
But in hindsight, I realize that these are points that are quite achievable. You have to suspect that you will get out of your mould and understand things differently, but it's super constructive!
On the one hand, most of the leaks were carried out by employees of the famous studios. On the other hand, in an emergency and in extreme need, studios always find solutions for the machine to run 😉
New Status: World of Entrepreneurship, here I am!
So it's done! I created my status so I could charge my clients! I'm lucky, I have a very good network, and that's what made me sure I got over this milestone, and started directly with a new mission for start-up Otodeck.
Of course I don't completely abandon the way of the corporate contract. I like the idea of being on all fronts (freelance and contract) and being able to respond to all the hyper interesting opportunities that might arise.
So very quickly in a future post to present you the result!
